This sour
and sweet chutney is very popular for all chat items like bhel, pani
Puri,kachori,Dahi Vada
and so on. it is easy to make and tastes too good.
- Tamarind pulp-1cup
- Jaggery(gud)-1cup (grated)
- Dates (chuhare)-6-7(deseeded) cut it into small pieces
- Ginger powder-1/4tsp
- Black salt-1/4tsp
- Red Chilli powder-1/2tsp
- water-3cup
Preparation:
Soak tamarind and dates in warm
water for 30 minutes.
Place it on medium heat to boil
about 7-8 minutes.
Allow to cool mixture completely.
Blend this mixture into blender
until you get smooth paste.
Add jaggery, black salt, red Chilli powder,
ginger powder, and salt cook
On medium heat for 4-5 minutes. or get chutney consistency.
Cool it completely and store an
airtight container in fridge.
Enjoy your delicious chutney with chaat items.

My ex-roomy's favorite, whenever she goes home for vacation she brings such chutney while coming back and we used to have it for couple of days!!
