Bread ke pakode

Today i want to share a very tasty and delicious pakoda recipe. pakodas are very famous snack in India and perfect for winter ,rainy days or potluck. if you have some leftover bread so try this easy and spicy pakoda.

Ingredients:
  • Besan(gram flour)-2 cup
  • Ajwain-1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
  • Whole coriander crushed-1/2 tbsp
  • Red chili powder-1/2 tsp
  • Green chili-2 chopped
  • Coriander leaves-1 tbsp
  • Bread-6 slices
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for fry


Method:
In a mixing bowl,put besan,crushed coriander seed,ajwain,chili powder,turmeric powder
And Corainder leaves,green chili and add 1/2 cup water and whisk well and make a smooth batter.
Make sure there are no lumps. Batter should be little thick like dosa batter.Keep aside.
Cut off the edges of bread.cut them into triangles or small square shapes.
Heat oil in a kadahi on medium high.
Dip the bread pieces into batter one by one and fry in oil until both sides are golden brown.
And place on paper towel.
Serve hot with tomato ketchup.

Moong with Curd

It is very simple and delicious Gujarati dish prepared with whole moong,yogurt and besan. For this I use soaked and boiled whole moong, you can make this curry with sprouted moong too.this dish goes well with rice.
 Ingredients:
  • Whole green moong-1 cup
  • Curd -2 cups
  • Besan( Bengal gram flour)-2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1/4 tsp
  • Green chilli-1 (chopped)
  • Mustard seed -1tsp
  • Methi seed -1/4 tsp
  • Cloves-2 -3
  • Curry leaves-3-4
  • Asafoetida(hing)-a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil- 1/2 tbsp


Method:
Wash and soak moong for 4 to 5 hours.
Drain the water and add enough water and little bit salt and pinch of turmeric powder
And pressure cook for 2 whistles.let them steam go down by itself.
Meantime mix the curd,besan,salt, turmeric powder and 1& 1/2 cup of water in a bowl
mix well without any lumps.
Heat oil in a pan add mustard seed,methi seeds,green chili,clove,curry leaves and hing.
Add curd and besan mixture and keep stirring until the mixture comes to boil.
Add boiled whole moong and mix well,cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
Serve hot with Rice.

Besan Ladoo In Microwave

Happy Ganesha Chathurthi to All. Besan Ladoo prepared during all festivals and auspicious occasions.it is impossible to think of any Indian festival or celebration without sweets.I used boora in this recipe instead of powder sugar..if you want to know How to make Tagar or Boora click here. it is very easy and simple process to make boora.I made these Ladoo in microwave it is very quick and easy, you do not have keep stirring. Lets start how to prepare this easy and tasty ladoos.
Ingredients:
  • Besan(gram flour)-2cup
  • Boora-1cup
  • Ghee-3/4cup
  • Cardamom powder-1tsp
  • Almonds chopped-1tbsp
  • Raisin-few
How to prepare:
Take ghee in microwave safe bowl and microwave for 30 seconds.
Mix besan with melted ghee and microwave for 2 minutes.
Take out the bowl from microwave mix nicely again.
Microwave again for one minutes.keep checking and stirring after 1 minute.
In 6-7 minutes besan should be a light brown in color and with nice aroma.
Allow it cool completely. Then add boora ,cardamom powder,almonds pieces
And raisins. Mix everything properly and make round Ladoos of your size.

Note:
you can use sugar powder too.
